The Garden Route is a corner of Africa that is so unique, so astonishingly beautiful that it has been called “A Taste of Eden”. It is a mosaic of silent, mysterious forests, sweeping lakes and wetlands, empty, unspoilt beaches and narrow, winding passes that lie between Gouritsmond in the West and Storms River in the East. Throughout these fascinating and varied landscapes, the threads that bind them all together are the wonderland of our indigenous fynbos and the warmth, friendliness and hospitality of the people who live here.
Seabreeze Cabanas are situated in "the heart of the Garden Route", surrounded by a number of popular destinations where there is plenty to do and see.
Outeniqua Mountain Passes - The majestic Outeniqua mountains are traversed by six different passes. The first was opened in 1689 and follows an old elephant trail into the Little Karoo. The second, in the east, travels over Duiwelskop into the Langkloof Valley.
In 1812, Cradock's "Berg Pass" was built. All three of these passes are popular hiking trails today, with the latter forming part of the famous 7 day Outeniqua hiking trail.
The Outeniqua Pass leads from the forests of George into the dry scrub of the Little Karoo where wide-eyed ostriches flutter their eyelashes and await their fate. It runs in sweeping curves over the mountain peaks which drop into deep valleys where the gravel Montagu Pass takes a slow ride up an easier gradient.
The Robinson Pass, between Oudtshoorn and Mossel Bay is a magnificent modern highway that overlooks ranges of jagged mountains fading into blue distances.
George - Nestling below the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains, George is the sixth oldest town in South Africa. The town's central position and close proximity to other towns of the Garden Route with road, air and rail links to all the important centres in the country, has resulted in George becoming a major distribution, education and medical centre.
George was selected to host the Presidents Cup Golfing Championship 2003, and is classified as one of the foremost golfing destinations in Southern Africa.
